The tragedy at Sandy Hook has received so much media attention that it is likely that copycat offenders could strike.
A potential slaughter was thwarted on Monday at Easley High school in South Carolina when a student, Hunter Ray Green, was arrested for having an arsenal of weapons in his car on campus. It is not yet determined if he intended a massacre but no chances were going to be allowed. The discovery was made by school security after another student alerted them about the car.
A school district official has stated that it didn't appear that the student had intention to harm anyone since the weapons appear to have been left in the car after a previous hunting trip. That may be true but the kind of weapons didn't add up. A handcuff and a high powered taser, neither of which are used in hunting, 200 rounds of AR-15 ammunition, an overkill for hunting and many other non-hunting elements.
