Kelissa Returns After 9 Years: Motherhood, Chronixx & The Good Side of Things
Published July 6, 2026
Kelissa breaks a 9-year silence with her sophomore album The Good Side of Things and sits down with Irie Jam Radio to talk about it. The partner of Chronixx and sister of Grammy winner Keznamdi opens up about trading the fire of her 2012 breakout Rebel in Disguise for the softness of motherhood, co-writing and co-producing with Chronixx for the first time, recording part of "Jah Odo" in Twi after years living in Ghana, and the boundary-setting message behind "Earthquake & Thunder." She also breaks down "Trying," a cover of a song written by her mother, reggae vocalist Kerida "Goldilocks" Scott, decades ago.
The Good Side of Things is out now everywhere you stream music, with vinyl available at kelissamusic.com.
